Nelson and I really wanted to go somewhere during his christmas break from school. He was so stressed and overworked that he needed a break, and hey, who says "no" to a vacation? We decided that due to dinero it needed to be someplace within driving distance. Then the car died, so we weren't quite sure what would happen for those two weeks until we bought the van. So the road trip was back on. We decided to go visit his sister Raymie and my sister Emily. Hmmm, now that meant that we driving to Miami for Christmas and then on to Charlotte, NC for New Year's. So yes my new van has 3500 miles on it now. Ouch! Well we had a lot of fun, though this was Nelson's first big road trip. I didn't know this, poor guy. The drive to Miami wiped him out for the next two days. Rebekah did well driving to Miami, but the drive to Charlotte was a different story. Miserable!!! Thankfully the way back home went how, miraculously.
Some highlights from our trip were:
seeing our family and Rebekah playing with her cousins
Nelson singing Karaoke at a Honduran Restaurant with his old buddies from Honduras
going to the Florida Everglades and taking an airboat ride (very loud, fast, and fun)
Going to the nature museum with Emily and the boys
Eating Raclette with Emily's family and her friend Meredith on New Year's Eve
Raclette is a French meal and it is fun and delicious. I was so excited about it, I love trying new things and foods!
