~Red Hot~

Every October we always attend the YMCA Trunk or Treat. They have trick or treating for the kiddos, activities, games, face painting, and a costume contest by age group. When Rebekah was one she won it for her age group (0-2) with her stellar TUCAN costume. This year Levi won the same age group with his RED HOT CHILLI PEPPER! Nelson carried him onto the stage, basically struting, held him up over his head and did a saucy turn. It was pretty funny. Levi honestly looked adorable. (Thanks Tara for the costume!!)

Levi at 5 months

Trying sweet potatoes for the first time

Levi loves sticking out his tongue (and apparently so do I...)

Yesterday Levi turned 5 months old. He is such a joy for our little family. Rebekah absolutely adores him and loves to play with him. He lights up when he sees her and she loves to make him laugh and squeal. Levi is still all about daddy. Whenever daddy is around Levi's eyes are on him. He gets sad and cries when Nelson leaves the room or the house. Last week I called Nelson and had him on speaker phone. As soon as we hung up Levi started fussing and getting upset. It took me a minute to realize what the problem was. As soon as I called Nelson back and Levi heard his voice again he stopped fussing and became happy. How cute!
  • Levi discovered his feet about two weeks ago (on Oct. 19th).

  • Levi weighed 15 pounds 14 oz (45th %) and measured 26 1/2 inches long (90%) at 4 1/2 months.

  • Levi still wakes up 1 or 2 times a night.

  • He loves to be held by mommy as much as possible

  • He is very strong and loves to jump and stand up (with help of course.)

  • Levi still tries to suck his thumb at any chance!!!!

  • He is a mover and a shaker, a wiggle worm if you will. He wiggles or rolls all over the place.

  • He loves water! Bath time is probably his favorite time of the day.

  • Levi still isn't sure about eating rice cereal (or peas) yet. It's slow going at the moment, so we're only trying it a few times a week.

Fall festival

Yesterday I took the kids to a fall festival. I've taken Rebekah the past two years and have really enjoyed it. This year she got even more into it and enjoyed playing the games and winning mommy a lolipop. this was the first year we could actually put on sweaters instead of sweating in the heat. Here are some photos of the fun day.

Argggh! I can't believe I took these pictures AFTER the face painting!! Of course Rebekah the cat wouldn't let me wash her face for these photos. Darn.

I love his cute little matching sweater and touque.

Levi's first bite

On October 3rd I decided to have Levi try some rice cereal just to see how he'd do. Well, for the first bite or two he was curious but after that he made some pretty funny, and disgusted looking, faces. Rebekah was very excited to help feed Levi so she gave him his first few bites. What a good big sister!

Family visit

Last month when Levi was blessed a lot of my family came out (for the BYU/OU game in Dallas, among other things) and we had a lot of fun, as we always do. My sister Jessica and her family stayed on longer due to her husband's work. We were able to go to the beach their last weekend here. They have a little baby boy just younger than Levi, and another boy the same age as Rebekah. Rebekah and Alma had a lot of fun playing together, and it was extra nice for me to be with someone who was in the exact same phase of life as I was. It was less stressful because Jessica and I both had the same expectations and schedules due to our little babies. It was a really fun visit and I am excited for the next time we can get our two little families together again. Oh, and Nelson and Alma Sr. had a blast hanging out together too.

Blessing Photos

Sorry it took me so long (a month!) to get these photos on, but here are a few from Levi's blessing.
