Easter time is here!

I love holidays and Easter is such a fun time to celebrate!  Easter egg hunt and egg dying at our house, Easter activities in the community, at playgroup and then of course on Easter morning.  There is no shortage of festivities in our family!  And lest we forget, Easter photos for the kiddos!

Caroline at 1 year

My sweet baby Caroline is one!  How quickly the time has gone by. 

• At the beginning of this month (right after she turned 11 months old) Caroline started to crawl and she also got her first tooth! 
• She no longer likes baby food and loves to feed herself anything she gets
• She loves water and will scream for it when she sees her sippy or a cup of water
• She is crazy for daddy.  He is definitely her favorite person.
• She says a few words - uh-oh,dadda, momma, nana (milk or nursing) deta - Bekah, hi, bye-bye and a couple of others as well.
• Caroline is quick active and has started to climb onto things. 
• Her favorite toy is a ride on fourwheeler.  She also loves her blankets.  When she sees them she anxiously calls for them and then snuggles her face into them.  Too cute.

Caroline's 1st Birthday

I had a lot of fun deciding what to do for Caroline's 1st birthday.  We ended up having a big family (and a few close friends) party at our house.  I spent the week before her birthday making giant pinwheels to put in the yard, mini pinwheels for table centerpieces, banners, balloon chandeliers, decorated water bottles and goody bags.  I found different candies in the colors (bright pink, green and blue) for a treat table, and made a raspberry and white cake and cupcakes.  It was a lot of fun to do and I loved the opportunity to be creative.  The pinwheels were my favorite part.  I have a little crush on them and can't get myself to throw them away!
When it came time for the cake Caroline leaned right in and grabbed the candle.  She burnt her little hand!  I rushed her inside to take care of her.  Needless to say she missed her birthday cake and I missed out on 1st birthday cake eating photos of Caroline.  Well, at least there's a good story to go along with the missing photos...
