The big 1 year old boy

Oh my goodness, I cannot believe that my baby turned 1 !! Nelson keeps teasing me, saying that Levi isn't a baby anymore, but he still is!!! He can't walk or talk, and he's my babe!
We had a combined friend birthday party with Levi and his little friend Avery, whose birthday was the day before his. We did a cute bright green (for Levi) and pink (for Avery) monkey theme. I found a picture of some cute monkey cupcakes last fall so I had been planning this monkey theme for quite some time. It all turned out very cute! I'll post pictures when I get them.

Here's what Levi's been up to this past month:

Stats at 1 year: 19 pounds 4 oz (he lost weight due to sickness); 29 3/4 inches tall.
  • The monkey themed b-day was very accurate because Levi is very curious and likes to climb onto everything!!! The kitchen table, coffee table, the toy kitchen, Rebekah's bed, the top of the toilet...perhaps I should start calling him (Curious) George as a nickname.
  • He is even wigglier than before, if that's possible. People, aside from me or Nelson, have taken to calling him a wiggle worm.
  • He still loves to rip apart and chew paper, especially toilet paper (clean T.P., thank heavens.)
  • He has finally stopped trying to eat every little thing he finds on the ground. It's about 40% of the time now.
  • He sleeps and naps very well, and is very easy to put down to sleep.
  • Levi has a great appetite and out eats his sister on occasion.
  • Levi loves being outside.
  • He loves Rebekah so much, and likes to lean into her, smoosh their faces together, and bonk heads.

Big weekend

Last weekend was a big one. We had something of some degree of importance every day from Saturday through Tuesday (and yes I know Monday and Tuesday are not part of the weekend, but too bad.)

SATURDAY:

On Saturday we held a garage sale!! Potentially a crazy thing to do on Mother's Day weekend but it turned out great. The weather was PERFECT! Mild, not hot and humid. There ended up being several garage sales in my neighborhood that morning and that always brings in the crowds.
We were steadily busy from 7:20 am (darn those early birds!!) to close to 11:00 am. I shut up shop at 12:00 as planned and had very little left over. Just some clothes and a few knick knacks.
Nelson and I were pleasantly surprised that basically everything sold and we made more money than we thought we would. To celebrate we took the kids out for Chinese food for lunch.

A fun day.

SUNDAY:

Rebekah and Nelson woke up early to make me pancakes and give me flowers for Mother's Day. At Church Rebekah and all the primary kids sang 'My Mother Dear' in sacrament meeting and she gave me a picture that she drew of me. (She said it was really of rain and clouds, but we'll pretend it was of me.)
After church we went to see Nelson's mom and then over to his aunt's house for some yummy food.

A very nice day.

MONDAY:

Monday it was my 28th birthday!!! I love birthdays and always anxiously await mine. Nelson, Levi and Rebekah gave me a new video camera to replace the one we bought Nelson for Christmas. (Quick side story - a month after we bought Nelson his it somehow disappeared. We searched everywhere in the house (even inside the piano) and could not find it. I was very stressed about this and finally came to the conclusion that it was no longer in our house and was gone.) I am thrilled about this new camera because we can once again attempt to record our cute little kiddos!
For lunch a friend took me out for yummy Thai food. What fun.
For dinner I planned and made salmon with pesto mayo (seriously delicious). And since it was my birthday after all, I decided to forgo the cake (much to Nelson's disappointment) and made my Baba's Date Crumble. Heavenly...

A great day.

TUESDAY:

Nelson took his last final ever and finished school!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
An exceptionally great day!!!!!
