New Moon Poster

What a great poster. I wonder if the movie will be half as good as this poster makes it look.

No baby yet

Just a quick update to let you all know that I have not had the baby yet. I have received several phone calls from family and friends wondering what's happening, so I decided to save some time and post it here. At my appointment today I was a lovely 1 1/2 cm dilated, so that was disappointing but hey, what can you do? So the good doctor said he'd give me another week and if I don't have the baby by then we'll have to schedule a blasted c-section. Dang it. So let's all hope that the baby decides to cooperate and comes this week sometime (preferably before the weekend as my doctor's not on call then.) Now I need to come up with a way to stay really busy to keep my mind off of it. Ideas, anyone?

And a Happy Day to you, too

So this past weekend I celebrated both Mother's Day and my birthday. On Saturday evening Nelson pulled himself away from all his studying and took me out on our first date in months. Yea!! Finally! We had some really good chinese food and then ice cream. A date was what I wanted for my birthday, so I was very happy with this. On Sunday Nelson made me breakfast and we had my b-day cake later that afternoon. Rebekah didn't even want any cake, what a stinker. She only wanted to blow out the candles, which I let her do. It was a nice day and to top it all off Nelson got me a massage as my mother's day gift. Hopefully I can fit it in before this baby comes!

Time to get ready

I must admit that I have become a bit more patient regarding the baby over the last few weeks. Overall I have been feeling so well that I kept thinking the due date must be wrong, that I couldn't really be 8 plus months pregnant. I kept expecting that when my doctor measured the baby through Ultrasound that he'd say something like I had another two weeks extra to go or something crazy like that. Thankfully that is not really the case, and I'm just benefiting from feeling well and exercising. So far everything is going well and the baby is healthy. Yesterday was my 38 week appointment and things are starting to happen. I was having a bunch of contractions in the morning and by appointment time I was 1 cm dilated and 40% effaced. I know that doesn't mean I'll have the baby soon, but it does mean that my body is doing things on it's own. Obvious, I know, but there really is a significance here. I want to try a VBAC which means I have to go into labor on my own to even attempt this. With Rebekah I was over 40 weeks and NADA! Nothing was happening at all, so you can understand my excitement over this discovery yesterday. My doctor was pleased as well, because this means I am still in the running to become America's Next Top Model... I mean still in the running to try for that VBAC.

Young Again

Last week we pulled out the baby things from the attic to wash/clean, etc. This has Rebekah very excited. She can't get enough of the baby toys, clothes, bath tub, car seat, etc. She constantly plays with the bouncer and the baby swing and I continually find her swinging in the swing by herself, or sitting in the bouncer or car seat. She also prefers to bathe in the baby's tub right now. That's an interesting one, since she is obviously much too big for it. She's having fun and it's not hurting anything so I'm letting her go at it. Hopefully she'll get a little bit of this out of her system now so that by the time the baby is here he/she will be able to use these things too!
